Health data
SprintArc uses HealthKit to do its job. With your permission, it reads only the types it asks for on the Health permission sheets: on your iPhone, heart rate variability, resting heart rate, sleep, wrist temperature, and your workouts; on your Apple Watch, heart rate, active and resting energy, steps, and running metrics. It saves each completed session back to Apple Health as a workout, with its active and resting energy, steps, and running metrics. It never writes heart rate.
SprintArc does all of its processing — your readiness score included — on your iPhone and Apple Watch. It never transmits your health data to us or to anyone else, never uses it for advertising or marketing, and never sells it. You control each permission in the Health app and can revoke access at any time.
Storage
SprintArc keeps your session history in the Notebook, in its own storage on your iPhone, along with a few records of its own: your onboarding progress, a cached copy of your trial and unlock status, the date your Notebook counts from, a marker for a day you chose to train anyway, a notice waiting to be shown, and bookkeeping for a session in progress.
Each session in the Notebook records when it started, how long it ran, its reps and planned sprint distance, how long each rest lasted, the heart-rate recovery readings taken after its sprints, and whether it was shortened or trained against a rest-day recommendation. It also records the readiness score it began from, when there was one; your readings of heart rate variability, resting heart rate, sleep, and wrist temperature at the time; your baselines for heart rate variability, resting heart rate, and sleep; and how widely each reading had been varying. SprintArc works out your current baseline from your Apple Health data whenever it needs it.
Your Apple Watch keeps each finished session for seven days, whether or not it has reached your iPhone, and keeps the state of a session in progress so that a crash cannot lose it. It also keeps its own onboarding progress, a count of your completed sessions, and a cached copy of the unlock status and trial end your iPhone sent it. For SprintArc’s complication on your watch face, it keeps your latest readiness score and state, whether the app is locked, and when a trial ends.
SprintArc uses no iCloud storage of its own; if you sync Apple Health through iCloud, the workouts SprintArc saved there sync with the rest of your Health data.
Deleting SprintArc from your iPhone removes all of this, and removes the Apple Watch app with it. Three things remain: the workouts it saved to Apple Health, which stay under your control in the Health app; your own Health readings, which were never SprintArc’s; and your purchases, which are App Store records tied to your Apple Account and restore when you reinstall. A backup of your iPhone made while SprintArc was installed includes its storage, like any app’s: restoring that backup brings it back, and deleting the app does not remove it from the backup.
Location
SprintArc never requests location access and stores no routes or maps. Distance and pace metrics for outdoor workouts are computed by watchOS as part of the workout and saved only to your Apple Health data.
Purchases
SprintArc’s seven-day trial unlocks everything; when the week is up, the app locks until a one-time unlock is purchased — one purchase, no subscription. The purchase is processed by Apple through the App Store. Your payment details go to Apple, not to us, and we receive no personal information from a purchase.
Crash and usage reports
If you have opted in to “Share With App Developers” on your device, Apple may provide us with aggregated, anonymized crash and usage statistics. That sharing is controlled by you and Apple in Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements.
